PostPosted: Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:33 am    Post subject: Can't stop and uninstall a server... Reply with quote

I noticed a new client was available, so I downloaded it, installed it in a different place, and then deleted the old install. Now it shows games that I can't delete. How can I fix this?

Also, the game installed under the new location refuses to start. I get this error: Fail stat(/home/prozac/downloads/gamecreate/et/etded.x86) failed: (Error: 2)

Any ideas?

Visit your host via the 'Hosts' tab, then click on your host and select the 'Configuration' tab - Change your GameCreate Directory to the desired value there.

My hostname on my box has also changed, so it shows 2 hosts for the same machine. How can I get rid of one of them altogether? It wont let me remove the host because it has a game on it, but i cant uninstall the game because I deleted it my box already. What do I do?

edit: And how do I fix the new install? Im trying to install Enemy Territory. Port 1224 is the only port needed, correct? (Well, and the port for the game, right?)

You need port 1224 open for GameCreate Client.

Other ports will need to be opened obviously as per what servers you have running and what ports those games need.

Ive removed the host for you, we are working on improving the means to remove hosts which have servers still allocated to them - You should stop the server before trying to remove the host next time Smile

stat(/home/prozac/downloads/gamecreate/et/etded.x86) failed: (Error: 2)

Can you confirm that et is installed in that directory?

It appears ET is still being installed.

Ahhh, things are looking up! Thanks. Now to just wait for ET to install...

And I tried stopping the game, the status just stuck on 'stopping' but never actually stopped. That's why I couldn't remove the game and the host...

Did you have GameCreate Client running on the host at the time? Would need it to be running in order for it to stop the server Smile

Now I have a new problem. ET didn't install overnight, nor did BF2...

I may have fixed my problem by opening all outbound ports on my server. What ports does it require and/or can I set that?

Our content server runs on port 3579 , so you need access to that.
