gameservers.com has signed an exclusive contract with Activision, so that they are the only provider of COD7 servers. Gameservers.com doesn't have the best quality, and usually has slower support times than other hosts. If things don't run smoothly activision may release it.

Personally I think Actitivision is doing a decent thing but also a stupid thing about this. The game may actually have proper supported dedicated servers just just keep and eye out for the servers and how supported or maintained they are. Never know like ryguy222 said. It may fail and go back to how Call of Duty 4 dedicated servers go. Let's hope it does.
