Hi,

Have you considered supporting the game Trackmania Nations?
It is a free, yet sophisticated, racing-game developed by
Nadeo specifically for eSports. The number of players world-
wide is booming as I type this. We are currently considering
putting up a couple of servers for TMN, and using GC to do
this would be great Smile

The game has dedicated servers for both Linux and Windows.

This game is already supported, we support way more games than our list implies, its slightly out of date Smile

Indeed you do! And you've even got setup for Linux.
Thanks a lot - this made my day! Very Happy

Is there much work associated with expanding support to
cover the other Trackmania games (Original & Sunrise)? Is
this something you would consider?

I made a brief attempt to find the dedicated server software for these games myself earlier, but could not find them to be downloadable.

If you can point me in the direction of where they are Ill check it out for sure Smile

The same dedicated server file is used for all:
http://www.tm-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1350

What you do with TMN servers in GC is add /game=nations
to the command-line. Similar command-line arguments are
available for the other two games.

I would guess it's mostly a matter of copying the TMN setup
and changing the command-line argument(s) as well as
some config-file defaults. Or possibly just rename "Trackmania
Nations" to "Trackmania" and have it as a toggle? I believe
it's easy enough for us to do a couple of overrides to turn
a TMN server into e.g. a TSO server without you making any
changes, but it would probably be cleaner if you did some
fixes to the implementation. But that's entirely your call Smile

Ah right, thats easy then.

Renamed the game from Trackmania Nations to just Trackmania.

And added a new Property called 'Game' - The default being Nations as the selected value. This has original, sunrise or nations.

Im not sure if there are any other requirements (map rotation wise?) needed if you choose a different game mode - let me know if you can.

If your using a specific command line for a server (or the game overall), be sure to reset it back to default (or replace the /game=nations bit with /game=%game% in the command line) - This is where the game mode value is set.

The above changes could have been done by you for your domain (since you can define your own command lines, files and properties), but yeah ive made the changes so everyones stuff is updated - let me know if it works or not.

Thank you! I've had a chance to test it now, and it seems
to work just perfect.

There were a couple of properties that I was missing, so I
added them myself. In case you want to add them globally,
I am including the config here:

Code:
Property: Ladder Mode
Variable: laddermode
Input Type: select
Option list: inactive,Inactive;normal,Normal;forced,Forced
Default: normal

Code:
Property: Connection type
Variable: connectiontype
Input Type: select
Option list: Modem_56K,Modem_56K;DSL_128,DSL_128;DSL_512,DSL_512;DSL_1024_128,DSL_1024_128;DSL_1024_256,DSL_1024_256;DSL_2048_128,DSL_2048_128;DSL_2048_512,DSL_2048_512;DSL_4096_256,DSL_4096_256;DSL_4096_512,DSL_4096_512;DSL_4096_1024,DSL_4096_1024;DSL_6144_256,DSL_6144_256;DSL_6144_512,DSL_6144_512;DSL_6144_1024,DSL_6144_1024;DSL_8192_256,DSL_8192_256;DSL_8192_512,DSL_8192_512;DSL_8192_1024,DSL_8192_1024;DSL_8192_2048,DSL_8192_2048;DSL_16384_512,DSL_16384_512;DSL_16384_1024,DSL_16384_1024;DSL_16384_2048,DSL_16384_2048;DSL_16384_4096,DSL_16384_4096;LAN,LAN
Default: LAN

Changed 2 lines in Server Config File:
Code:
      <ladder_mode>%laddermode%</ladder_mode> // value between 'inactive', 'normal' and 'forced' (or '0', '1', '2')

      <connection_type>%connectiontype%</connection_type>

Thanks again for you help Smile
