Watch the console, it told you an error - it couldnt write out to that file.

Click 'retry' on the Game Overview page beside the host where it says the install has failed to make it retry immediately.

yea i did, i set that file to not be read only and redid it and still nothing, so then i unistalled from the GC page and reinstalled completely and still nothing. its like the server isnt talking with the site however if i leave the server off then restart the console it will do the updates, after that i tried to use the start command and nothing happened, no errors nothing. I'm out of ideas of what it could be.

Like said before my server is able to start up via a bat script but not via GC.

ok seems like it works sometimes now, what i did was messing around and trying to remove the game from the box without deleting the physical files, it said it couldnt do it and my game still showed up so i click start and it started the server, then i clicked stop and it wouldnt shut it down, so then i closed the server manually and clicked start and it wouldnt startup, then i closed the GC console for that server and started it back up then clicked start and it started. Seems like maybe a communication error?

Paste a transcript from the console log of what you see happen when you do simple things like tell the server to start.

Your confusing me with trying to do so many things at once because your having a problem somewhere, but your introducing too many variables.

i kinda have the same problem, i stopped my css server before i accessed the servers .ftp to dl the adminlist.txt, to look @ it and add in a steam id, then closed the ftp, and hit start on server, now the server doesnt start back up, any suggestions? i dont want to re-instal, checked the help and read me file @ mani's site, nothing to helpful,

the server was working just fine to, its odd cause i didnt edit anything,

You dont have Write access to the FTP, check the FTP Help documentation in GameCreate (click Help on the FTP Admin tab) to find out how to permit Write access to files.
