ok not sure 100% but when you look at the hltv
and there peaple in it you never see the peaple that are in it
but instead you see the peaple who are in the game server where
the hltv is connected to
the hltv is not that muts a game server but just a way to watch what is
happning on the game server it's connected to.
than if i have it disabbled the hltv servers run fine no problems
so that means it's running with-out problems
- however there is 1 thing
"HLMaster: your HLTV server is out of date. Please update and restart."
but i have read many forums to find the solutiion for this
but at the end i have not found 1 and every forum ended with
you can savely ignore this message and it wil run fine
also if you wanne talk to me with a little more interaction than forums offer
let me kno if you have any of the programs mentioned above
thanks
ps. how do you querie a server maby i can test it out for ya than. |

Both your game servers and HLTV servers respond
nicely with qstat, and the HLTV servers are properly
shown as clients on your game servers:
Code: | $ qstat -default a2s -P 72.249.2.195:27015 72.249.2.195:27025 72.249.2.206:27015 72.249.2.206:27025
ADDRESS PLAYERS MAP RESPONSE TIME NAME
72.249.2.195:27015 1/13 0/0 dod_donner 139 / 0 dod V2GameServers.com #10 - V2G |
0 frags 33h26m38s V2GameServers.com #10 HLTV
72.249.2.206:27015 1/13 0/0 dod_merderet 141 / 0 dod V2GameServers.com #12
0 frags 33h25m58s V2GameServers.com #12 HLTV

ok i just turned the querie server back on and with-in 2 min the server rebooted i normaly have 6 or more hltv running so it be a real prob if they
all keep rebooting every 2-3 min (i disabbled it again)
if you can see on a programming way what happens to it
i'll be abble to turn it back on for ya but if you can querie it the way you did
and gamecreate querie seems to have a problem idk how it work's
internaly for you guy's.
easyest solution i can think of don't querie hltv's untill a better solution
coms by, but i stil love to get my player info for game servers back
i don't care that muts about the hltv player data
thanks
ps. what does the diffrence in the result mean where the game servers
have 0 the hltv servers have 2 ?
139 / 0 141 / 0 (game server)
156 / 2 152 / 2 (hltv server) |

I believe this issue is fixed now.
bloke: Can you please turn on query checking again.
Your server should not reboot anymore and you should see player statistics on the HLTV server as expected.
You can confirm the query was successful if after a few minutes under the 'Server Overview' tab, click on 'Failure Reports' and see if it says:
(server name) has been started and is now active.
The problem was HLTV servers were being queried with an incorrect protocol (source) instead of the old Half-Life protocol.
Let me know how it goes. |

The first number is the average ping (your servers
are probably far from Norway), and the second is
the number of query retries. That may actually be
the key to your problems. If your HLTV or any HLTV
server doesn't respond to every query, then GC may
receive several failed requests in a row and restart
the server.
However, it's not very straight forward: Qstat will
not retry the query unless I ask it to report player
stats (-P):
Code: | $ qstat -default a2s 72.249.2.195:27025 72.249.2.206:27025
ADDRESS PLAYERS MAP RESPONSE TIME NAME
72.249.2.195:27025 0/25 0/0 dod_escape 151 / 0 dod V2GameServers.com #10 HLTV
72.249.2.206:27025 0/20 0/0 dod_sturm 160 / 0 dod V2GameServers.com #12 HLTV |
If I turn on player stats, then it will always retry as
many times as it can (default is 3 tries, i.e. 2 retries):
Code: | $ qstat -P -retry 9 -default a2s 72.249.2.195:27025 72.249.2.206:27025
ADDRESS PLAYERS MAP RESPONSE TIME NAME
72.249.2.195:27025 0/25 0/0 dod_escape 154 / 8 dod V2GameServers.com #10 HLTV
72.249.2.206:27025 0/20 0/0 dod_sturm 154 / 8 dod V2GameServers.com #12 HLTV |
So I guess it comes down to how GC interprets the
results.
Edit: Gah, Andrew posted while I was running tests |

Beat ya
This use to work fine, it appears its just HLTV that still wants the old half-life protocol - even cs 1.6 now uses the updated source query format. |

You can read about DDOS-attacks here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack
The old protocol allowed servers to be used in such
attacks, while the new one doesn't. The server itself
will in most cases not be affected when used in a
DDOS-attack.
Anyway, good night. Glad to see the problem fixed |
