Hi guys,
ok..looks like we got things running after finding our way round the interface etc..damn nice cp btw
just wondering why, when you install tf2, garrys mod is installed aswell ?
this isnt needed.. any chance this can be altered to have it as a seperate install please on the content servers.
Thanks |

GMod should be separate from TF2. |

well..
all i did was install team fortress2 from the content server and it automatically added sourcetv and Gmod (garrys mod) along with the tf2 install
I did this again on another subdomain and it did the same again
also i notice when i ftp to it...there is portal!! and ep2!! ?

no this is not a custom content server...we haven't set that up yet.
I'm just using the standard install method via the gamecreate page.
steps i did
1) created a subdomain
2) chose to install tf2 game (so using the gamecreate content server)
3) wait fo the game to be installed
4) notice that gmod, sourcetv and tf2 are being pulled down
5) ftp'd to the server after game installation was complete and see the directories i said in my previous post populated with info after game install complete.

Garry's Mod requires things like Ep2 and Portal, and also requires the orangebox package.
TF2 also requires the orangebox package.
Since GC doesn't currently support child packages, all of these things need to be included under the orangebox package.
So if you were to install GMod10, you're likely to find it will also install TF2.
I'll have to get someone to confirm this though. |
