PostPosted: Fri May 01, 2009 9:09 pm    Post subject: Serious Problem When Updating Games from Gamecreate Reply with quote

I am using the latest Linux client 5.2.4 Beta

I have asked for support on this but it was not resolved.

This happens on my Counter-Strike 1.6

1) Update NEVER completes. I rather do it manually. This is fine and I can always update it manually and disable auto-updates

2) The main problem is that once an auto-update begins from Gamecreate, there is no way to abort this.

I have tried

a) Terminating the Gamecreate client on the server.

This just turns the host red and changes the status to Waiting for Host. This waiting for host error DOES NOT DISAPPEAR. I have waited for more than 24 hours and it just continues to wait without ever letting me to cancel the update.

b) Starting the Gamecreate client again on the server AFTER manually updating it and succesfully completing it.

Host turns Blue again but the status remains stuck as Waiting for Host.

This does NOT go away.

I am also unable to remove the game from the server. It will return me the main screen and still show that it's Waiting for Host.

As a result I am unable to restore accessibility to that game from gamecreate any longer.....

This has been going on for more than 2 weeks and I hope that this can be resolved as it is very stressful for me Sad Many thanks.

Can you provide me a Url to the host that is experiencing the problem? I can check it out for you.

You can cancel game updates when they mark themselves as 'failed'.

Here we go again.
I'm not able to complete the installation of CS 1.6. It get stuck at 99% and stopping the GC Client does not prompt for cancel or retry. I did wait for 30 minutes to see if the cancel/retry prompt is given or not.

Moving the hlserver folder to another folder and then restart the client will restart the reinstall again and again stuck at 99% in progress.

I got 5 customers getting really upset now cause I cannot start their servers.
Removing the game totally will also remove the custom settings, so its not an option at the moment.

Need help.
