I'm using your software for the first time, and so far seems impressively easy to use, however, I notice that when trying to install TF2 it also wants to install DoD:S, and TF2:STV.

Why? Can I remove them after the install?

This is due to the way the package system works.

Unfortunately we don't have options for child-of-child packages in GC yet.

TF2 and DoD:S are child packages of Orange-Box which is a child package of HL2.

Basically you need to have them both if you install from the GC repository.
