I used gamecreate to set up quake4 on both win2k and linux (redhat E3). The quake4 on win2k launches fine (though it is crashing frequently) however I can not get it to launch on the linux box. When I try to launch it manually it says:
If you read this, then something failed during the setup
See http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/ for troubleshooting

I have tried re-installing twice but it does the same thing.

thx for any help,

raz

Hey Raz,

I got this myself, too, when installing on a new host computer.

I think the Quake 4 installer attempts to do some changes to other files, outside of the \quake4 game folder.

Can you try downloading and installing the Quake 4 Linux dedicated server manually? And then see if GameCreate can launch a server?
