i was told before that ventrilo works fine. i just setup a 10 slot ventrilo server but i get this in my error report...

Start GameCreate attempted to start Ventrilo Server

I do nothave a ventrilo liscence but you only need it for serves > 10 (right?)

so what could be causing this? (im not really sure what an error 2 is)

Do you have Ventrilo installed at that location?

edit: the ventrilo directory exists, not the executable (i installed ventrilo through gamecreate_ the config directory is there with stuff inside it

We dont have GameCreate install the software - you need to download it from www.ventrilo.com

is it possible to setup gamecreate to install the software i want for ventrilo? (i guess you do it this way for legal reasons since hosting ventrilo isn't free)

It'd be nice to not have to manually install it on each server I will have

Ive done a bit of testing of game create on windows and have now moved over to linux - all installed very nicely.

I am however getting the same error with my vent server...error 2 - all the same as above.

I downloaded vent from ventrilo and installed it like that. I also installed the necessary configs etc. from game create and looking at the ini file, it should work. The command line makes sense too.

Was the issue ever resolved or discovered?

Yes this is possible.

You just need to host the content locally.

I've emailed you our 'content server' script, so you can have GameCreate Client download Ventrilo from your private web server (and any other game you choose).
