I have a dedicated server running linux (I rent)....

Since there is no remote desktop or anything for linux, how do I install and use gamecreate? Seems there are no guides on this, and I searched for one.

I rent one from a datacenter in P.A.

the specs are (not sure if they matter):
CPU: AMD Phenom 9600 2.4 ghx (Quad Core)
RAM: 4GB
Space: 2x250GB SATA
Operating System: CentOS 5
10 IP Addresses
Control Panel: cPanel

I'm totally new at this server thing on Linux. I CAN get it on windows, but its a proven fact that CoD servers run better on Linux based systems.

Install it via SSH,
If you have no knowledge of Linux,SSH,etc then quickly get a refund.

Yes, if you are going to do GC or anyhitng for that matter on linux, it's best to have a vague idea first.

The best thing is probably to install linux on a home computer and learn how the command lineetc. works. THis way, you will find it easier when starting from scratch remotely.

If you are not confortable with Linux after that, then yeh, probs easiest to switch to a windows box.

If you have no idea on how to use a Linux OS, its probably best for you to switch to Windows.

Also, we have generally found it better to run servers on Windows - games support Windows at a minimum, while only some support Linux servers.
