Hey there
I got a new linux box and would like to use gamecreate on it.
Start, domainlogin, installing of a game, all seems fine from webinterface and console.
Webinterface tells me that all files are successfully installed and console tells me the same.
But if I look at the place where it should be...
There is nothing else than gamecreate.x86, gamecreate.ini and multiserv.so.
No game!
I tried starting the server from a local user named "gamecreate" and tried to start it with root.
everytime the same...
Some of the games either do not have a Linux-
version, or the GC guys haven't installed it on
their master server. In those cases all files are
downloaded to your server - all 0 of them - and
GC successfully finishes the installation...
It would probably help if you said which games
you have unsuccessfully tried.
You will see that when installing Savage on a
Linux-host, the installation takes about a second.
Look at the gamecreate.log on your host. It
will say something like
This file contains information on what the GC
client should do to install savage on a Linux host.
Open the file in your browser, and you'll see it
contains basically nothing - it should be full of
commands to install this file and that, create
directories and such.
So it is apparent that the GC guys haven't
installed Savage Linux server to their master
server. You can request games to be added here:
Are we missing a game?
We don't generally maintain installs of most linux games that GameCreate supports for various reasons.
You can install the game yourself and select the advanced option 'Do not download, the game software is already physically installed in the required location'
