After updating Garrysmod today via GameCreate, I discovered that it had added a large amount of unwanted files to my install, all of which are optional third party addons that ruin gameplay and cause instability of the server.

I normally would not mind this, as I just deleted everything, but since the game updates very frequently, it adds these files back each time, and I always have to delete them. This is a huge issue, since I am not able to delete these files right after an update, and the files will be loaded into the server causing unwanted problems.

I love using GameCreate to manage my servers, but it has become a huge hassle to have to clean up after it and delete files that should have never been put there.

I take my server's stability very seriously, and work very hard to make it as stable as possible, and to control the server environment to allow my playerbase to have the best experience I can give them. Having these files constantly added back to my server without my authorization is making my job much more difficult.

Is there anyone else who runs a Garrysmod server with GC and has been having these problems?

Don't get me wrong, I am not criticizing GameCreate itself, I am thrilled to be able to use it, and it works great. The issue I have, is files on the content server that should have never been put on there, and is a major headache for everyone running a serious server with GC.

We're working on cleaning up the GarrysMod install and making it just vanilla.

It should be ready soon.
