The reshuffle of the Orangebox package has been completed.

Orangebox is now a base install. From there you can choose to install the mods that work on OB separately.

If you had any of the OB games installed and they've stopped working, you may need to reinstall the OB base package, and any of the child packages you want to use.

Once they've been installed you may also need to run a reinstall again, with the advanced option to 'Verify the chosen installations match the latest content master version' to make it all work correctly.

It's probably pretty frustrating, but it's been done to minimise the size of the OB install, so if you wanted one game that uses the OB directory, you didn't have to have them all.

Excellent job, Steve. Been waiting for this since TF2 was released Smile

Currently updating my content server. I'll let you know if there are any bumps
along the road.

BTW: Your packages.txt file seems to be missing the following game defs
which I have to add every time I fetch an updated version:
Code:
callofduty4 callofduty4
callofduty5 callofduty5
codwaw codwaw

Any idea why, and can it be amended?

You have a double entry for dodsource:
Code:
$ grep dodsource packages.txt
dodsource srcds
dodsource orange-box

Seems that it's the last entry that's the correct one.

Something is wrong here. After running hldsupdatetool to install tf2 into
the orange-box dir, I currently have the following directory structure on my
content server:

content/{linux,win32}/orange-box/{orangebox,hl2}

The orangebox dir contains these files and dirs:
bin hl2 srcds_i486 srcds_run tf

This all corresponds with the contents of packages.txt:
Code:
orange-box orange-box
- /hl2
- /orangebox
(...)
tf2 orange-box
- /orangebox/tf

However, when I run build-update, I get this:
Code:
>build-update.php tf2

I ran build-update.php orange-box, which worked fine. But I got the same
response when running it for tf2 again.

As you can see, the build-update run is ignoring the entire contents of the
/orangebox dir, including /orangebox/tf2 which belongs to tf2 (unless I am
misinterpreting the output from your build-update script).

Where is the problem here? Is it my directory structure, your packages.txt
or something else?

The double up of dodsource should now be gone from packages.txt and you should also find the cod entries added.

There's an updated package building script in the downloads section you should probably get.

As previously mentioned, if you've reinstalled the OB games, you may also need to run a reinstall again, with the advanced option to 'Verify the chosen installations match the latest content master version' to make it all work correctly.

FTP should work but you would find it located in orange-box\orangebox\garrysmod now.

Steve,

The new Orange Box install fails!!!

With all the recent changes and no warnings is really pissing me off. Ive had to reinstall 8 servers now, and there is no SRCDS in the orange box install!!!!

I assume i now have to manually install each game server. Evil or Very Mad

Edit:

This is installing Garrys Mod 10... no files are even downloaded. Go back to the way it was, it was working fine!!!

There's a few problems that are still being looked into. It won't be going back to the way it was however.
