In the command line for CoD4 there should be a +set net_ip then the ip of the server.

Same thing for World At War CoD. I am not 100% sure this is needed, but my servers don't seem to work without it, or if they do it picks a random IP from the available ones on the server.

In my experience it hasn't been necessary.

I've added it to Cod:WaW in case other users experience the same issues you're having.

it IS necessarx if you have more than ONE ip on the root available

dont using the net ip parameter and you can connect with EVERY ip on this single gameserver...
