hi all,

i just recently set up gamecreate on my opensuse root-server. it already runs a cs:s server fine and i wanted to run a bf2-server, too.

first thing: the install took ages! it was stuck at 94% for several hours.

but it finished now and i configured the server and tried to start it, but it immediately stops again or doesn't even get started in the first place.
i checked this by running "while true; do ps auxt|grep -i start.sh|grep -v grep; done" and then clicking "Start" in gamecreate. sometimes the commandline shows up, sometimes not (about 50% of the time).

if i copy and paste that very commandline and run it myself, the server starts and runs without any problems, though!

any ideas what the problem might be?

Could you try using 'Use a screen session' via the Game Configuration for BF2, and see if this works (by using the original start.sh though)?

That may be the option you need to turn on.
