Hi!
My server (set up today) can start game servers fine - and the games the run fine.
But when the server then decides to check theyre ok, it thinks they've crashed - and decides to restart the servers, kicking all its users in the porcess
For the more technically minded of you:
Stop GameCreate stopped IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:49:41
Fail Stop IGF Vent Server was stopped due to consistant server instability (Query Failure). 03/07/2010 01:49:23
Start GameCreate attempted to start IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:41:28
Stop GameCreate stopped IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:41:24
Fail Query Failure 03/07/2010 01:41:24
Start GameCreate attempted to start IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:33:27
Stop GameCreate stopped IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:33:23
Fail Query Failure 03/07/2010 01:33:23
Start GameCreate attempted to start IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:25:28
Stop GameCreate stopped IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:25:23
Fail Query Failure 03/07/2010 01:25:23
Start GameCreate attempted to start IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:17:28
Stop GameCreate stopped IGF Vent Server. 03/07/2010 01:17:23
yet, through all of that - the server was actually working (when gamecreate wasnt rebooting it).
Any help? |

Two options:
1. Make sure that GameCreate can actually query the server. Open any relevant ports in your firewall, fix NAT in the router etc.
2. Disable querying for that particular host from its configuration page.
Option 1 is best since option 2 will prevent GameCreate from restarting your server if it hangs. |

Hi, option one is not the issue - the server has a dedicated IP (no NAT) and is not behind a firewall |

Are you using a query-port different from the default? GameCreate calculates the query-port based on an offset from the gameport. If you have specified a query-port manually in your config, then GameCreate will not be querying the correct port, will not receive a response, and hence believes that the server process has hanged and will issue a restart action. |

No the query port should be default - this is literally making a server with all default values & pressing start.
I've disabled querying on the server, which at least has servers running for now. Although It would be good to fix this in order to get the auto-server reboots working |

Having turned the server querying off, it is still restarting servers - as i say they are running fine... Can somebody tell me how to override these restarts? |

Can you paste the log output from the Failure Reports screen?
If it is saying Query Failure still, you didn't really turn off query checks. |
