Currently my server box is taking 24+ hours to download a orange box based game server, when if I downloaded the same server (as a test I installed a Team Fortress 2 server) through the steam content servers it is significantly faster (for the Team fortress 2 server it took about 15-20 minutes via steam).

I am guessing that the European content servers are very busy?

We only have one content server right now, and it's based in Australia - no doubt slow for you.

You should try setting up your own content server if you want to manage game installs yourself, see the Download link on the left.
