I'm not sure if this has been asked before, I did a search and didn't find anything.

Right now I don't think there is a way to specify sub domain folder names.

Possibly instead of C:\GameCreate\GameCreate-4345 having something
C:\GameCreate\GameCreate-clanname\client name

Or being able to specify the path.

It would make it easier on hosting providers like myself, but I sell dedicated systems, and they use gamecreate, and have asked if they can change folder names.

I don't believe this is an option now, but perhaps this is something to look at for the future.

Great idea, it is simply horrible to learn by hard which folder is from who...

The way I did it was just to make a text file which had the folder name and then what IP:PORT that goes to. If you ever forget which folder is which, simply look at that file.

Until they get round to it (and if you don't want to learn off by heart) it is quite simple to do that.

That's what I've been doing, but I suppose it's always good to have a master list of things to do, to make it perfect right? lol

I can see why the GC devs have done it this way, since clan names (that is: domain names) can be changed, whereas domain ids are permanent.

However, for those of you using Linux, there is a workaround: Simply create symlinks to the existing directories:
