I dont know why, but was hoping your guys would have a suggestion.

It does this randomly, about every 30 -10 mins or so.

Code:

Stop    GameCreate stopped WCU - Counter Strike Server.    4/12/2006 3:04:18 PM
Fail    Query Failure    4/12/2006 3:04:08 PM
Start    GameCreate attempted to start WCU - Counter Strike Server.    4/12/2006 2:42:50 PM
Stop    GameCreate stopped WCU - Counter Strike Server.    4/12/2006 2:42:46 PM
Fail    Process failure (Server crashed?)    4/12/2006 2:42:34 PM
Start    GameCreate attempted to start WCU - Counter Strike Server.    4/12/2006 2:41:33 PM

Fail    Process failure (Server crashed?)    4/12/2006 2:40:53 PM

As of now i have Gamecreate running as a service through firedaemon and i am currently logged off the box.

Another question is how do i bind the different servers to different processors and or cores on the processor? Maybe that would help it.
Also how do you set the priority of the gaming servers?

I marked the server as stoped, so it gamecreate wont kill it again. I guess its having connectivity issues.

I had this issue and found that the proccess was allready running from a previous failed attempt and didn't close it properly.

After I killed all instances of the game server it ran fine Smile (Mine was a different game but may be the same issue.)

We dont support you running GameCreate under a service.

Its attempting to launch the service, and is then asked to check the process is still running - I assume firedaemon does something so there is no process ID or whatever, and then gamecreate is told to restart the server because it thinks it has crashed.

tigre, are you running GameCreate under a service?

You shouldnt need to stop GameCreate Client, nor is that of any use.

Well what i did wrong was set the server port in the command line, so after i stoped the server i changed it in the gamecreate page, so that it all matches. Its really odd how they have it setup. As far as your question as to why you would run gamecreate as a service comes down to what do you want the server to do on failure. I for one want it to restart and then start up gamecreate and i want gamecreate to restart my game instances. I also use firedaemon to run gamecreate as a service, im just wondering how to set the priorities of the gaming servers that gamecreate starts and how do i bind them to processors.

GameCreate monitors all servers (it ensures the process is still running, as well as being queryable from the internet).

Never hard code port numbers, use %server:port% variable if necessary to use the port number chosen on the Configuration tab.

GameCreate will automatically restart servers it finds are down - no need for firedaemon.

GameCreate will restart servers if its either unqueryable from the internet (outside your network) or the process stops running.

Make sure neither of these problems are happening.

Run the server manually.

Does the server remain online OK?

What game are you trying to run, and what OS?

Hey,

You dont need to reply twice about the same issue, I wont miss it Smile

'Process failure' means that GameCreate started the server (Exactally how it appears on the 'Server Overview' tab Command Line) and the server closed itself for one reason or another.

You need to try starting it *the same as GameCreate* to see what errors occur.

For example, the server may be complaining about a missing map, for example. And just shuts itself down.

Can you please reply here with a list of the games you have tried to run that have problems, and the OS you have them running on.
