Hi there,
i want to give some users special access to the servers, but all i can do, is give him rights to a category.
Is it possible, that the user can change the servername, timelimit .. but not the maxplayers, clientpw and so on?
You can give users permission to a single server, or all servers, or all hosts, etc.
If you are in a rental environment, you would visit the given Servers permissions tab.
From here, click 'Advanced permissions' (bottom right of page) and then grant the user Write access to the servers Configuration and Files (if desired) but not player limit.
As for enforcing client password, you would need to query the server yourself and restart it (you can tell GC to restart a server via webservices) if the password is not found to be running.
You can tell GC to auto restart servers running over their player limit on the Domain tab.
Another question i have.
In the GC Panels r statistics for cpu/memory, but during the installation of the GC Client i get a message, that the counter for cpu/memory cant not installed.
Is there any way to fix it?
Dont sure if i understood it.
In the webinterface are detailed statistics for each server.
If i go to "Server Status" i have the servername, ip, players, cpu, memory and so on.
But at cpu/memory ive always read "0".
As i has installed the Client on my root, i get a message
LOG: Thu Feb 23 15:49:37 2006: Could not add memory counter
LOG: Thu Feb 23 15:49:38 2006: Could not add cpu counter
LOG: Thu Feb 23 15:49:38 2006: Could not start resource query; No counters
LOG: Thu Feb 23 15:49:38 2006: Could not remove cpu counter
LOG: Thu Feb 23 15:49:38 2006: Could not remove memory counter
(dont look at the date)
So i think thats the problem. How can i reinstall theese counters?
If you give the user permission to 'Write Players' they may change the value on the Configuration tab.
If you DONT give them this permission, and they change the value via in-game admin or through the Files tab, you can have GameCreate automatically restart their server.
From your top level domain (not a subdomain) click on the 'Domain' tab on the top right and then check 'Have GameCreate enforce server player numbers' for everything.
Then, if for example you have a server with a maximum defined player count of 10, and GameCreate notices the server currently has 11 players in-game, it will restart the server (thus disconnecting everyone in the game) - making it pointless to work around the player limit in any way, as they wont be able to play for very long at all.

As I said, this is to do with your permission setup for Windows.
Make sure your running Windows 2000, 2003 or XP and that the user who is logged into the system/running GameCreate Client has permission to view 'Windows Performance Counters'.
These are accessed via Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Performance.
I've not experienced (across our many different computers) any of those problems.
I am not sure why you would not be able to query those performance counters if you are running GameCreate Client with the appropriate user account, sorry.
