The few Linux gaming servers we still have left run Gentoo Linux.

Quote:
1. When try start gameserver from GC it start, but i cant join ingame Sad

2. Here is a screenshot.

According to the screenshot, that server isn't running properly. I can't say exactly what is missing, but something is wrong with your config. Perhaps you are missing a mapcycle? Or perhaps your IP is wrong? If you were to try and run this server from GC, GC would not be able to query it, and GC would restart the server in an endless cycle.

A properly running BF2 server should start by counting from 0 to 100% completion in the lower half, followed by some Punkbuster messages (if enabled), and the top part of the console should contain lots of information such as map name, game-mode, number of players, round number, IP, and status should be "Playing" iirc.

Did you make sure to open your firewall(s) and forward all required ports from your home router to your server?

You need to make sure that the server works from the local command line before configuring it in GC, as GC adds another layer of uncertainty to your problem.

You can specify all ports in your configuration, so that's up to you.

Access to GC won't help much since your server won't even start locally.

How do i know with port i need to open?

I get a query failure in GC.

If you can provide me with ssh access to your box, I'll see what I can do to help. Please send info to our support mail.

You can identify ports in use by typing 'netstat -nlutp' in the shell.

I changed sv.serverIP to your local IP, and not the server starts. See if you can play now, first by trying the local IP, then by trying the external IP.

Will try.

Does your company do that on BF2 servers?

It worked when you changed sv.serverIP to 10.0.0.5, but when restart the server GameCreate rewrite the serversettings.con to default Sad

And my server does not show up online.

Can you see MG's serversetup? How its it done there?

We don't use NAT - each host has a "real" IP.
