Hey guys ive been pulling my hair out trying to figure out this quake3 install you guys have going here. The objective for me is to get a simple basic quake 3 server deathmatch server going, but every install you guys have is a mod. and there is a quake3 install that says mods. Its so confusing me. Can you make is simple for me with a simple quake3 install without those silly mods.

I suggest trying to install the game yourself manually for now - Some of our installs have not been touched for well over several years.

You should be able to install a modded version (such as RA) and then remove the associated mods to get a plain vanilla server up no problem.
