|
|
Hi,
I have installed GameCreate on my Host.
First I must say that GameCreate is the best and freely CP, I 've ever seen.
I have got a question:
Can I install the Hostclient as a Service (Win2003)?
It would be better caus if the Host is beeing crashed and restarted or so on the Client would be start quickly and so the Servers are under control
I hope u understand what I mean.
Regards from Germany

Hey,
Thanks for the feedback.
We do not have a service version of client at the moment, however its something we have thought of before too.
For now, just chuck GameCreate Client in the Start Menu>Programs>Startup folder and it will run when your host logs in. |

Hi Maat ....
I have an scheduled task; the root user starts gamecreate at system start up.
If you connect with TS and the server has been rebooted you can kill the gamecreate process and start it again to see it running in your desktop.
It works fine .... |

Hi all,
yes a Task or put the client to Startup folder is great but if there will be a service it would be better cause the client can start as soon as possible.
Sometimes the Rootserver could be crashed and a admin is not there so i think a service would be better |

as gorean pointed out FireDaemon is a service management application that allows you to setup the gamecreate client to be run as a service.
that's what i use. i created a non previleged user to run the service in order to minimize possible security issues.
i forgot to mention: FireDaemon is really cheap. |
