I have installed a server on my computer, using GameCreate. When I click on the start button, the server cmd window will come up. It will load for a few seconds, then give me this error: Engine Error: Coulnd't allocate UDP Port?

Anyone know whats up?

Hey,

This would be game server specific - which game are you trying to run?

The overall error though appears to be because the port is either in use (by another server / service?), so try changing which port you use and see if it makes a difference.

The game I am trying to get a server running for would happen to be Counter-Strike: Source. And by changing to port, you mean in the config change it from 27000, or whatever it is to something like 27025, and then port forward 27025?

BTW: It seems as if every port I change it too gives me the same error, are their any specific ports that you could tell me?

Try a random port, like 42717

You change it via GameCreates Server Configuration tab for the server.

If you still get these errors, perhaps a firewall is blocking your port? This is an error unrelated to GC.

I tried quite a few random ports, and still says Engine Error.
also, if this means anything, in console it says

WARNING: NNET_OpenSocket: bind: ***************

What does that mean? Shocked

You said maybe it was a firewall issue? Well, I only use windows firewall, and even when I turn it off, I get the Engine Error.

BTW: If this helps, when I change the IP of my server, from my external, to my internal, my server will not give me any errors, im just not sure if it is online. Mad (Actually it will not show up in Steam Games List, nor can my friends join unless we are on Hamachi)

You should contact the publisher of the game / post on their support forums, they should be able to help Smile
