I've set to Call of Duty 4 and Counter-Strike: Source 'requires screen for server to run' but the servers will not start within a screen-process.
Eighter it's a bug or I'm doing something wrong.
Screen is installed on my Debian 4.0 Server - so where's the problem :O ? I really need it to debug my server >.< |

Check the servers Failure Reports tab to see why - perhaps it cannot find the screen process. |

There is no error regarding the screen.
GC just start the server without .o |

Make sure you have the latest GC Client, grab it from the downloads page on the left. |

Sorry for the late answer.
Nope, your executeable won't work for me too.
Maybe it's because of the servername which gamecreate will give the screen-process ?
My servernames are like T.A.T|'04 # Public Server
There should be a list of variables available to use in the screenname like %game% and maybe a %counter% variable which will count the current running servers. or the variables available from the properties.
Then I could implement a propertie for public and war-server to use in my screen-app-names. |

There is. Go to Gamepage->Configuration and enter
the variable(s) of your choice for screen name? |

New server, new host, new try with screen-support and it doesn't work too on that new machine running on Debian 4.0
[EDiT]
And a new suggesstion:
A small textbox for a specific screen-name would be great... because I don't give my server a name ( %server:name% ) that screen supports... the server names are not only a single word, they use some special letters ( some german special letters, spaces ( don't know if screen supports that, but I don't think so ), etc. )
So, a small textbox that will appear if you setup for the game *require screen to run a server* and *use screen if available* that a textbox will appear where you can insert a unique screen-name to use for the screen-process. |
