Hi, I've just reinstalled gamecreate on a host which is behind a router.

When I go to change the ip in the ini file, I get an error message

"The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect"

And the file contains nothing

I've tried completely removing game create and the ini file and reinstalling etc. and I still get the same error

If anyone has experienced this problem or has any ideas, i'd be most grateful

Try reinstalling GameCreate (uninstall it, then delete any files left in the GameCreate directory).

Then run the GC executable, then when it tells you about the IP error, simply click OK to it, *then* edit gamecreate.ini - not before running it for the first time.

I have found what the problem was, and I must admit I was surprised.

It appeared that my editor was having difficulty with the file; either the file was being corrupted by it, or the editor etself was corrupt.

I reinstalled both game create and the editor; bingo
