Hey,

I did a search but to no avail. I wanted to know whether it's possible to control 2 different versions of a game. I have Call of Duty 2 versions 1.0 and 1.3. 1.0 is bog standard, 1.3 just uses a patch which adds a few extra files into the main folder and runs punkbuster. I'm having a little trouble figuring out the best solution for this.

Can anybody help or is this not an option?

Cheers

You could install them both yourself under different subdomains as suggested.

Using subdomains you could also easily control the different properties for each version if they're fairly different.

By creating a subdomain, does this have an impact on the "domain id" at all?

I also noticed that, by using the subdomain, a new folder with a 4 digit identifier is created where the new installation of the game is placed... is this routine based by the client or is this changable at all to be more "name friendly" if you like...

Your new subdomain will get a new domain id.

The folder is called GameCreate-X, where X is the domain ID. If you use
Linux, then you can create a symlink which is more human-readable:

ln -s GameCreate-1234 mydomain
