I have gamecreate running on my linux box and it is taking FOREVER to install tf2 what could be the cause of this?

It needs to stall the orangebox package first, and then TF2 on top of that.

Sometimes people experience slow download times from our Australian content server.

If it's too slow you can always install it yourself.

how would i go about installing it myself? On the actual machine? If i did that would gamecreate know that i installed it?

You can get the files for creating your own content server in the Downloads section. This is handy if you run a lot of servers over multiple hosts.

If you are just running a single server, you might just want to install the game with the HLDSUpdateTool.exe

For TF2 you'd want to install it into gamecreate\orange-box\

Once it's installed, go into the GameCreate web panel and select the TF2 installation and choose the advanced option 'Do not download, the game software is already physically installed in the required location'
