You'd be better off installing TF2 using the hldsupdatetool yourself as we don't generally keep the linux versions of the server software up to date.

With cases like this one, we normally tell people to install it themselves using the hldsupdatetool.bin found at http://www.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.bin
