Hi

I had a CoD4 server on my Windows host already, I moved the files to the correct path for GC and all is working fine.

I have now finished uploading all the required files to my Linux server, also in the correct path and with the correct Linux dedicated server files added, GC tries to start the server but something goes wrong and it can't. it then tries again.

Below is the outpu from putty while this is happening. - Can anyone can point me in the right direction for solving this or where I might find some more detailed logs to find out why this is happening I'd appreciate it.

Hi

Yes i get the same message in Windows, but the server still starts and allows people to connect and play, and after searching on this forum I discovered that that error probably isn't the reason its not working.

I would like to find the reason it isn't working though Cool

What happens if you run that command line manually from the host console in putty?

Does the server crash with an error? This would indicate why GameCreate fails to identify where the server is.

Hi

It then gives me the error - Couldn't run Call of Duty 4 server (cod4_lnxded-bin). Is COD4_DATA_PATH set?

You should research into what that error means, its to do with the game.

Hi Andrew

I have been doing just that - apparently it's an issue caused by not having certain 32bit libraries installed on 64bit linux OS - although with my limited Linux ability (sill in my first week!) I have not yet managed to solve it. apparently I need to run ' sudo apt-get install ia32-libs ' but this gives me a command not found error when I do this via putty - I'll keep reading up, but I'd also happily accept any suggestions on how to get cod4 working Laughing

You will really need to research yourself into how to get this working; I don't have the time right now to help debug non-GameCreate related issues - sorry.

Ask your hoster for help, or if you can't use Linux, switch to Windows to run servers.

Hi Andrew

I have researched into this an awful lot, I fully understand that this is not a GC issue, and I never expected you to debug it for me.
But as this forum is for Game Server admins I still belive it's valid to post my problem here to see if someone else can help me.

After over a week of researching I have now tried -
yum install glibc
yum install glibc-devel.i386
yum install libstdc++.i386
yum install libXtst.i386
yum install libXmu.i386
yum install compat*

But still I get the same error, can anyone point me in the direction of the exact 32bit libraries that COD4 requires?

Thanks, Spotta.
