|

What used to be:
./orangebox/cstrike
has become:
./css/cstrike
I cant launch servers from GC anymore. Cant even uninstall and re-install with new path since it says something like "Unable to remove this software from <server> as one or more servers require the package(s) to be installed." |

Found a temp. workaround;
- run hldsupdatetool manually (no need to edit location. just run it like nothing happened)
- copy content from the new css dir to the old cstrike dir within orangebox (remember to backup your old cstrike so you keep your addons etc.!)
- start the server and check that it runs - GC should see it and launch it, then copy addons back.
Its working fine, just going to be a hassle every time valve drops a patch :b |

Yeah, the workaround works.
Kinda stupid of valve to change the paths and folders of css again.
They don't have anything better to do?
Anyway the GameCreate team should change the server start command and all others paths including configs, like this:
From:
orange-box/orangebox/cstrike
To:
orange-box/css/cstrike |

Yeah, the work around works fine.
Only problem is, you need to back up from every patch - you are in a world of hurt if you don't, and you forget to move cfg/maps/addons folder
GameCreate have until next patch from Valve to do this - you never know when the shit hits the fan again |

Uh. Something must have happened over night. Suddenly my servers all show up as "Counter-Strike: Source" (hostname). They won't take the portxxxx.cfg anymore
When launching a server, it halts on "Launching dedicated server config" (line 13) for a good minute before continuing.
Err... we have a probrem
EDIT:
Nevermind - GC have moved the launch-location to new ./css folder . Didn't thing they would be that fast ^^ |

Ok... I redownload all /counter strike source game... and now it work properly I can see into hlsw... but have a problem...
Server only give me 66.66 FPS...
In the same machine I have a Counter-Strike 1.6 server with 1000 constant FPS...
I donīt know what happends... or what I would to do for work it with 1000 FPS... or more than 66.66 FPS...
My dedicated especifications
CPU: Core i7 930 4x2(HT) x 2,80 GHz - 8MB L3 Cache + 1 MB L2 Cache - QPI 4,2
RAM: 4 x 2048 MB = 8 GB DDR3 1333
HDD: 2x 1 TB SATA SOFT RAID 1
Connection: 100 Mbps 99,99 (NOT Bandwith limit) -> OVH EUROPE NETWORK
O.S. Ubuntu Server 11.04 x64
I have only hosted:
· 1 TeamSpeak 2 Server - 20 slots
· 3 TeamSpeak 3 Server - total 300 Slots
· Counter-Strike 1.6 - 1 Server (12 slots -> 1000 FPS)
· Wine with-> FTP Services
· GameCreate 2 Program -> 1 Under Linux - 1 Under Windows Core wine (with 1 IP FailOver)
The CPU Usage with all + is not over than 7% same in RAM satatu...
Why donīt have 1000 FPS Source servers like 1.6 servers? |

Because Valve realised that 1000FPS is stupid, and fixed it at a more reasonable rate. |

You can probably reach 100, but that is not recommended by Valve. You should use 66. |
